Loukman Bah & the love of reading

Loukman Bah is sixteen years old, and he loves to read. Not the kind of reading you do to pass a test, the kind where you fall into a book and the hours dissolve, where a single page can change the way you see the world. He grew up surrounded by stories, questions, and the quiet conviction that knowledge is one of the greatest gifts a person can carry.

As a Muslim, Loukman's love of reading runs deeper than habit. His faith taught him, from a young age, that the very first word revealed to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was an invitation to read. The Quran again and again urges the believer to look, to reflect, to use the mind God gave them. To Loukman, reading was never separate from faith; it was an act of it. Every book opened was, in his eyes, a small act of worship, a way of honouring the intellect and the curiosity that the Creator placed within him.

So he read everything he could, about artificial intelligence and philosophy, about finance and history, about leadership and the stars. And the more he read, the more he noticed something: not everyone had the same access, the same encouragement, or the same joy of learning. Some friends saw books as a chore. Some had no quiet place to read. Some had never been told that their minds mattered.

Loukman wanted to build something fun, a place where reading felt like an adventure again, not homework. Where you could earn XP for finishing a chapter, listen to a book in your favourite voice, drift into focus with gentle soundscapes, and share what you learned with a community of curious people. A library that met you where you were, on any device, and made you want to come back tomorrow.

That idea became OCP Library, a reading and learning platform built on a simple belief: that the love of reading, made beautiful and fun, can change a life. It is Loukman's invitation to every curious mind: come read, come learn, come grow. The first word was an invitation to read. Everything here follows from it.
